  The decades have left this once-majestic instrument to ruin. The case is cracked and the works have long since ceased to move. The clock face shows twenty minutes after two o'clock, and will forever.

  The shelf-clock is not in fact on a shelf; someone just left it sitting in the corner. The case is molded with gilt cherubs, or owls, or... you're not sure what they are, but they're in execrable taste.

  The front of the clock has no hands or numbers. Its face is a slowly spinning galaxy--the longer you stare at it, the more entranced you become by it. Engraved in its back is the following: "Noalarm Clock. Set for Eternity." It emits crackles and hums as if it were highly charged with electricity. Sitting in the back of the clock is a small red key.

  They have been made to tell the time to anyone who wishes to know it. Some even have pictures of famous clock towers, such as the one in Margate, Big Ben and even a bell tower of a church. These clocks are not for sale and belong to the business.
  Acording to their displays, the time shows itself as [current time]. As the clocks are only for show, they do not provide the speaking clock.

  The alarm is blaring, making it hard to think. Its waterproof and battery operated (but it's literally impossible to get open).The large, red LCD display on the front reads "[5:50 am]". Somehow, you have to get this thing to shut up.

  • Apparently, it's 9:00 in the morning.
  • Clock? More like, shattered pieces.

  The Legend of Horse Girl (2022)

  It's a massive stately grandfather clock, its pendulum swinging lugubriously with the passage of seconds. How odd. When you look at the face of the clock, you're having trouble making out the numbers. There are the usual 12, but then, somehow.. there's a 13... and a 14... and a 15... Defying all reason, the numbers seem to spiral into infinity even though the clockface instead is a finite circle. Staring at it too long gives you a headache.

  Clocks of every make and size adorn the walls, each ominously ticking away. Their combined ticking is almost as loud as the pianola music.

  Lydia's Heart (2007)

  The grandfather clock stands as stiff and still as a tombstone, except that within it a brass heart ticks as the pendulum swings back and forth behind the long glass door. The clock face is numbered using Roman numerals, to which a pair of ornate old-fashioned brass hands (rather bent and tarnished) are pointing. If the clock is to be believed, it’s now [time such as 3:41].

• Moon-Shaped (2006)

  [Release 2:] The most impressive piece of grandmother's furniture, the grandfather cuckoo clock is a tall, dark tower in the living room. Its crown is ornamented with wooden carvings of oak and beech leaves, pine cones, and birds with their nests. Looking up, you see that the golden face reads quarter to five, and symmetrical trails of gold-leaf vine swirl their way down the long front of the clock.

  The clock has stopped... at least, it's not ticking. The front of the clock is solid wood, though, so you can't see the pendulum or any of the parts inside.

  Release 1's version is only slightly different.

  The grandfather clock is slightly transparent. It is ornately carved, and the weights and other features seem to be of fine construction. A square bolt protrudes below the clock face.

  The hands are pointing to [hour] o'clock.
