In the Navy! was written in Inform and was written in 2004 by "Ernesto Heywood". This solution is by David Welbourn, based on release 1 of the game.
Players should be aware that this game is a vicious parody of a specific author's style. I won't spoil things here by revealing the real author is or who it's parodying since the target of the parody is not known for being a good sport.
The game In the Navy! can be found somewhere on the author's own website. You might remember the author for his essay on how he never wants to see the phrase "Nicely done!" in an IF review, nor gutless reviews of AIF games.
CAUTION: The game's protagonist is a racist, a bigot, a sadist, and a homophobe. The game contains violence, a huge amount of homoerotic innuendo, and intentionally bad room descriptions.
SCORING: You get 90 points for pushing all three buttons on the bridge three times each (10 points per button push). You get 110 points for beating up all the crew members (10 points per hit). You get 100 points for visiting Advertising Room 4.
The game has no specific ending. You play until bored, and then quit.
