  The mechanical jigsaw is fairly compact and consists of a long thin blade between two handles. Evidently, the blade vibrates back and forth when the handles are pulled.

• Ballymun Adventure (2006)

  This is a large freestanding bench saw with a circular blade about ten inches in diameter. The sharp teeth of the blade make easy work of sawing lengths of timber. The blade is covered with a blade guard to prevent fingers from being severed. A very powerful machine which must be treated with respect.

  A three wheel bandsaw generally used for cutting curves in wood. It is capable of cutting the most intricate shapes and thus is often used in toy or model making. When used with care and attention the bandsaw is a very safe machine to use.

If you were to let the audience examine the blade, they would agree that there is nothing suspicious or magical at all about it and, were you to use it against the flesh of a lovely assistant, it would absolutely tear her in half with no chance at all of any trick saving her.

  Really, it's sad how many people find even the very word "bonesaw" to be alarming. By its very nature a bonesaw is not frightening. People picture something medieval, probably made of serrated cast iron, but a modern bonesaw won't even cut flesh: it looks a bit like an electric hair trimmer, and it works by oscillating its tiny ginkgo-shaped blade 32,000 times a minute, by design cutting only hard, brittle things, such as bone; you could rest it against bare skin and it would have no effect. It is strange how hardly anyone is willing to even listen to your explanation of this, and of why your name is thus not anything of which they should be scared.
