It's a fairly standard graphite pencil.
There is something printed along its length.
The tip of the pencil is [blunt or sharp].

They look rather like, um, dull pencils.
The Legend of the Missing Hat (2012)

It's a tiny pencil.
Perdition's Flames (1993)
> x pencil (@ Master Bedroom)
It's a standard number 2 pencil. [either] It's brand new, and hasn't been sharpened yet. [or] It has a fine point and is ready to write. [as appropriate]
Plane Walker (2021)
> x pencil (@ The Aisle)
A standard no. 2 wooden pencil. After who knows how long sitting in that textbook, the tip is broken, and you haven't got a sharpener on you, so you might as well just call it a stick.
> x pencil (@ Lecture Hall)
It looks ordinary, but you can tell that this isn't your standard no. 2 pencil. It has a magic about it that's hard to describe. [if unsharpened] The graphite is broken and will not write, however fresh the pencil may be. [else if sharpened] The lead is now sharpened to an almost deadly point.
Tookie's Song (2002)
> x pencil (@ Home Office)
You examine the pencil closely. It looks to be in pretty good condition: the bite marks near the center are kept to an absolute minimum; the eraser itself is nicely rounded, just worn enough to be easily used; and the tip appears to be almost completely sharp, with just enough of an edge taken off that writing with it will not break or snap any of the graphite off. One's tools are very important. It looks like this particular Ticonderoga should serve well, should you ever find an occasion to use it.
Waystation (1995)
> x pencils (@ Office)
The pencils have been carefully sharpened, beautiful in their smooth perfection.
