A Beauty Cold and Austere (2017)
> x small mailbox (@ West of House)
The mailbox is [if closed]closed[else]open[end if]. [if crank missing]It has a small hole in it.[else]It has a small crank attached to it.[end if]
Let's look at mailboxes! The most famous mailbox in interactive fiction is probably the one at West of House in Zork I. But although it was wildly imitated, it was coded as a default container at "West of House" containing a leaflet. It didn't have any description of its own.

Bullhockey 2: The Return of The Leather Whip (2019)
> x mailboxes (@ Mailbox Room)
There are at least a hundred little mailboxes here--including yours, #9. They are all square little doors with keyholes in the center, and marked with their respective numerals. There is a large slot for sending mail.
> x mailbox 9 (@ Mailbox Room)
This is your mailbox, marked with a #9 and a keyhole in the middle of it.

> x elaborate mailbox (@ Mansion at Gate)
It's covered with a pretentious design that spells out--
102 Lookout
But black duct tape covers the name. A vine winds around the post, and over the top of it.
> x doggified mailbox (@ Lockridge House)
The Lockridges must have just installed this new-looking box--you don't recall ever seeing it on your walks. The post looks like a totem-pole of doggie-faces--indeed the box itself is in the shape of a bulldog's head, with the door on front being the dog's mouth. You figure they must love dogs. Under the box on the post, two of the doggie faces each have bones labelled, respectively, with the name "Lockridge" and the address "206 Lookout".
One of the little ears is sticking up--must mean that there is mail inside...

A cheap model. It doesn't even have a little flap to open or close. On the side of the box is printed the text "PIG, L. x 3".
Don't Push The Mailbox (2019)
> x mailbox (@ Neighborhood)
Yup, on closer inspection, it's definitely a mailbox. Like one of those british mailboxes. The red one, what are they called again? Doesn't matter. The mailbox has a opening which you assume is for mail, who ever uses them still and a handle for a door to get the mail out you guess.

Porter Cave Adventure (2019)
> x mailbox (@ OUTSIDE CAVE (start))
The mailbox is strangely out-of-place. Its wooden pole is seemingly thrust into the concrete by some otherworldly force. On its front, in place of an address, there is simply the word "Player."

Upon further examination, this mailbox is exactly identical to the one in front of the cave. On its front, in place of an address, there is simply the word "Player."
