This compact block of fired brick is a rudimentary mobile forge. A hook molded into the top brick is for attaching a rope or chain. A slit opening in the front acts like a window into the forge’s belly. A tube protrudes from the top of the forge.

The inside of the fireplace is ashen, although there is no smell to attest to recent use. A pair of fire-dogs, or andirons, sit inside.
