Acid Rain (2021)
> x journal (@ Secret Room)
It appears to be the mad scientist's journal. It's currently [closed or open]. [if unread, add:] You should probably read it. It might explain what's been going on in this strange mansion.
Let's look at diaries and journals! Including any loose pages from diaries or journals that we may happen to find.

The Ascent of the Gothic Tower (2014)
> x diary (@ Loft)
It's small enough to fit in a back pocket, and clearly has seen its share of adventures. The cover is closed; "DIARY" has been scrawled across it in pen.
Augmented Fourth (2000)
> x diary (@ Butler's Cottage)
The Awakening (1998)
> x journal (@ Small Office)
A book of blank pages, the kind that would be used to keep a ledger or a journal. [if untreated] Unfortunately, someone has torn out most of the pages and only blank sheets remain. [else] Someone has torn out most of the pages, but the ashes have made the indentations from the last entry legible.
Bullhockey! (2018)
> x notebook (@ Inside Trailer)
[if 1st time:] You gloss over the page that the notebook is open to, and note that it appears to be a diary(!)...then certain words give you pause...
"Feeling powerless where I am. Soon that will change. I am tired of people taking over my life, making my decisions! To hell with them! My friends will help me. I put it in the control booth of the Crock B. Some idiot just came through--WHO goes on rides this time of day???--I will say that he did it. After the first ride....then I will become...IMPORTANT...THEN SHE will start noticing me....Janice...."
Suspicious, you glance at the chemistry textbook, and realize that Chester has been reading up on explosives, and planted that pipe bomb that you placed!!!
And you casually guess that that "idiot" is you...
Full of righteous indignation, you snap up the notebook. If Chester has the police coming, you have evidence against him....
[else:] This is clearly Chester's diary--written crudely on the front is "Chester Brockwood's Diary--KEEP OUT"
...or get blown up HAHA".
Flipping through it you see snippets of thought in reference to making bombs and planting them in this or that person's car, etc. For this week, there are detailed plans for blowing up the Crock Blocker. It seems he had some ill will towards the operator of that ride, Janice, who would not date him. He thought she would have probably run had she seen the bomb drop out, and heard it tick, so then he would be there to "rescue" her. You surmise she was not at work yet when you arrived, and you short-circuited his plan by initiating the ride. So now, he is in serious trouble...
> x diary (@ Natalie's Room)
This is indeed the most brilliant looking book you have ever seen. It is hard-bound in leather, with vellum pages. On the front of the book are gilt letters reading "NATALIE'S DIARY". You swear it must have been invisible....
Capture Santa! (2007)
> x journal (@ Living Room)
You read the notes. Basically, it sums up to: The guy comes in through the chimney, he ate the cookies and he drank the milk you had out from last years party, and he always leaves a present under your small fir tree.
Causality (2003)
> x diary (@ Sleeping Quarters)
Your diary. The only important stuff in here is that a number of asteroid observations have been made for an asteroid, and another one is needed to fix its orbit precisely. The last entry is dated 03/02/2091.
Chronicle Play Torn (2004)
> x diary (@ Living room)
This is a small booklet bound in black leather with the word "Hakai" on it.
Clusterflux (2019)
> x journal (@ Den)
It's impossible to glean anything from this journal as it's filled with mathematical formulae, esoteric notes and cryptic diagrams. Whoever wrote all this is either crazy or a genius or both; no inbetween. The only thing the author gave away is his name, written on the inside cover. It's almost as if he's dedicated the journal to himself. It reads, Blaine Wyatt - The Angriest Man In The World.
Flipping quickly through the pages, you catch one somewhat lucid passage: [one of three lengthy rants]
The Colour Pink (2005)
> x diary (@ Northeast corner of ruins)
Cragne Manor (2018)
> x diary (@ Milkweed)
A small brown book with embossed letters on the front, mostly worn away, spelling "DIARY". Inside it's filled with spidery letters in faded ink. According to the name inscribed inside the cover, this belonged to Phyllis Cragne.
You think you remember your husband speaking of a "Great Aunt Phyl," a sprightly old lady who haunted his earliest memories and always wore tartan trousers.
Crocodracula: The Beginning (2020)
> x diary (@ Becca's Room)
The pages of your diary are almost completely blank. Until very recently, nothing interesting had ever happened to you. The only entry is from September, and it just says that sophomore year is shaping up to be just like freshman year.
Dr Ego and the egg of Man-Toomba (2020)
> x journal (@ The Maro River)
My journal is filled with my research notes. To consult my journal type NOTES ON
Edge of the Cliff (2011)
> x diary (@ Edge of the Cliff)
You begin reading your diary, recounting all of your days of happiness with him, from the moment you met in high school up until now. How awful you felt thirty minutes ago is NOTHING compared to how awful you feel now. In a moment of dramatic despair, you stand up and rip pages out of the diary and throw them off the cliff. You watch for a moment as the wind buffets them and they eventually drop out of sight. You reach for another page but being tall and gangly, lose your balance and trip over the cliff. Soon, you know what it feels like being one of those wadded up diary pages. You console yourself with the fact that you meant to do that, anyways.
*** The End ***
The Empty Chamber (2019)
> x diary (@ The Empty Chamber)
A blue exercise book, similar to those Celia had used in boarding school. "1950" had been scrawled on the cover, in shaky black ink.
[if 1st time, add:] "I told the boys to bring that back from the station," Land piped up suddenly from the corner. "Thought it might help you do...whatever it is you do."
Happy Ever After (2000)
> x diary (@ Inside the Museum (First Floor))
A small leather-bound diary, with the initials G.R. on the front.
The Horror of Rylvania (1993)
> x diary (@ Study)
It's quite old, that's for sure. You could probably read it.
The House (2003)
> x diary (@ Computer Room)
It has a rather stylish black and gold cover. For some reason all the entries previous to the last have been torn out.
The Physiognomist's Office (2015)
> x journals (@ Surgery)
Medical journals, most bound in yellow paper. You can't make out the titles from this angle.
Seasonal Apocalpyse Disorder (2020)
> x journal (@ Hut)
You leaf through the journal. One entry reads, "This spot I've found is great! It's safe, it's isolated, it's got lava. What more could you want?" Another reads, "I'm still not sure what I should get for my hand tattoo. I just love both ladders and shovels so much! How can I decide?"
