There are generally two types of collector; those who strew their objets d'art about the place willy-nilly, and the fastidious type who prefer their antiquities arranged according to category. Lord Hamcester is of the latter variety, but the meticulous mind is all too often lacking in artistic taste, and the best that can be said for most of these objets is that they're very neatly organised. The items on display include a black amber statuette and an Eighteenth Century cow creamer.

The Ascent of the Gothic Tower (2014)

The case is very classy, probably made out of cherry or some even classier wood. The shelves inside are packed with plaques, statuettes, and asymmetrical glass objects that in another context would look like paperweights. You can't make out any of the engravings to see for what achievements these objects were awarded, but they're apparently important enough for the light in the display case to be left on overnight.

This might actually be a cupboard. You're not really sure what the distinction is. Etymologically, a cupboard would be a board for cups and a cabinet would be a chocolate-covered cabin, so neither of them really make sense.

The cabinet looks very out of place in the dining room, and in the house as a whole, as it's the only nice piece of furniture in the place. It is open faced and looks as if it was made by hand of sturdy oak. While it was obviously intended to be a China Cabinet, it actually holds knick-knacks that only true old school geeks could love. Oddly, there are scratches in the hardwood floor to the side of it.
