  It's a two-handed polearm with a long wooden shaft. At the top of the shaft is an axehead and a sharp point, like a spear. It strikes you as being an impractical weapon to use in the confines of a sentry box, so it's probably just for decoration or to scare off bakers that are trying to crash the king's ball.
