Key & Compass presents:
Keeping Dido
by Brendan Desilets

Keeping Dido is a Z-machine interactive fiction game written with Inform 7 and is © 2013 by Brendan Desilets.

Here, in this mythic play, where fates entwine,
You, Belinda, stand by Dido, Queen divine.
Her sister loyal, in this game of old,
A tale of love and treachery unfolds.

Aeneas, prince of Troy, his heart aflame,
Proclaims his love, and calls upon her name.
You urged her to accept, with joyful plea,
This union blessed, for all eternity.

But hark! Dark whispers through the shadows creep,
Foul plots now stir, as dangers rise so steep.
Their happiness, their very lives, in peril lie,
Now, Belinda's task: to save them ere they die!

This solution is by David Welbourn, and is based on Release 1 of the game.

SPOILERS AHEAD. Reading a walkthrough prematurely can sometimes diminish one's enjoyment of an interactive fiction game. Please make an honest effort to play the game before reading this walkthrough.

The sailors are oddly lethargic. The Magician and his women arrive. Because you moved the label, he reads the wrong scroll, and the sailors regain their senses and vigor.

> hit magician. (using the branch; he surrenders)
