In this western, you play as Kenneth Johnson, the sheriff of Tucson. Manolo Ramirez and his gang attacked a small community of settlers, kidnapped the girls and killed everyone else before returning to Mexico where the law can't legally follow. So you left your tin star behind with your deputy and pursued them on your own. The hunt has taken days, but as you now approach a village ravaged by those murderers, you vow again to make them pay!
This solution is by David Welbourn, and is based on Release 1 of the game.

Extras
Characters
A terrified-looking boy is at the top of the bell tower. He's also thirsty.
An outlaw (named Pedro) enters the village square after you befriend the boy. The outlaw looks like he's waiting for someone.
A flock of noisy vultures are nibbling on a dead woman left in the road.
A rattlesnake is slithering around inside the bottle when the boy finds you near the dead woman.
Manolo Ramirez and his gang of desperados kidnapped the girls and killed everyone else in a settlement, then escaped over the Mexican border to escape the law. But you vow they won't escape justice. They ride horses.
Most of the villagers are locked inside the eastern villa. The boy releases them at game's end.
Found dead:
Some burnt bodies are still inside the burnt house. You assume they were a family of four killed by the desperados.
A dead woman lies on the road outside her villa.
A dead man slumps on the seat inside the confessional. You think he's the priest's helper.
Cameo appearance:
Yosemite Sam appears briefly in response to XYZZY.
Mentioned:
Your horse was spooked by a rattlesnake and ran off, stranding you.

Endings
You have died
if the desperados see you without the sombrero on. They shoot you immediately.
if you fail to throw the snake-filled bottle while the desperados are fighting amongst themselves. When they stop fighting, they realize what happened and shoot everything around them, including you.
You have won
when you follow the boy's plan to successfully take out all the desperados.
Inventory
Items are listed in the order found in this walkthrough.
your clothes. You're wearing them.
Examine them to verify that you're not wearing your tin star, but otherwise, ignore them. You won't remove them.
a revolver and a rifle. You're carrying both.
Examine them. The revolver is loaded with six bullets, but the rifle is empty. Note also that the rifle is best for shooting a distant target.
On the road out of the village, shoot the vultures with the revolver to scare them away.
Load the rifle with the bullets you found on the dead man in the confessional.
At the top of the bell tower, drop both guns before talking to the frightened boy. Take them after he leaves.
When you're at the top of the bell tower and you can see an outlaw in the village square, shoot the outlaw with the rifle.
You automatically use both guns to shoot the desperados after you throw the snake-filled bottle at them when they're blinded by the boy's mirror.
a knife. It's in the village inn's kitchen cupboard.
In the sacristy, cut the long rope with the knife to create a short rope.
a flask of tequila. It's in the village inn's cellar.
You don't need any tequila.
a bottle of sarsaparilla. It's in the village inn's cellar.
At the top of the bell tower, after dropping your guns, try to talk to the boy. The boy indicates he's thirsty. Give this bottle to him.
a mirror. It's in the village inn's bedroom.
Take the mirror to reveal the plug that it was hanging on.
Late in the game, while you're sitting on the villa's rocking chair, the boy somehow acquires the mirror which he soon uses to blind the desperados.
a wooden plug. Find it by taking the mirror in the village inn's bedroom. It's in a hole in the wall.
In the small room behind the church's altar, put the plug into the hole that's below the lever, then tie a cord to both the lever and plug to lower a ladder into the sacristy.
a small key. After scaring away the vultures (see revolver), search the dead woman to find the key.
Unlock the western villa's door with the key.
some feathers. The vultures leave them behind on the road after you scare them away (see revolver).
You don't need any feathers.
some bullets. Find them by searching the dead man in the church confessional.
a short rope. In the sacristy, cut the long rope with the knife; a short rope is now on the floor.
Unravel the short rope to produce a thinner cord. You may discard the rest of the rope now.
a cord. Unravel the short rope to produce a cord; it falls to the ground.
In the small room behind the church's altar, put the plug into the hole that's below the lever, then the cord to both the lever and plug to lower a ladder into the sacristy.
a large sombrero. It's in the village square after you shoot the outlaw; see rifle.
Wear the hat in the hopes the other desperados will mistake you for one of them at first sight.
a bottle with a live rattlesnake. While the desperados are approaching, the boy gives you this bottle soon after you sit on the villa's rocking chair.
When the boy is blinding the desperados with the mirror, throw this bottle at the desperados to win the game.
Honorable mention:
a cotton handkerchief. Find it by successfully searching the dead woman a second time.
You automatically cover the dead woman's face with her handkerchief to give her some dignity in death. You won't move it from there until her burial.
