- The Book of Ballads and Sagas (Green Man Press, still in print)
(Click Here to see the cover of
issue 1, of Thomas the Rhymer)
- Here's a
Review
of the comic series.
- Sandman, issue #19, "A Midsummer Night's Dream". Fairies come to
see the first performance of Shakespeare's play. Here is an
annotation
of issue 19.
- Elfquest (??) I've been reading these since the very original
run back in the 70's, and I love them, but they don't really fit, being more
fantasy than folklore.
The Book of Ballads and Sagas is especially recommended. Charlie Vess,
the artist of many Sandman's, publishes it and draws much of it. Issue 1
contains "Thomas the Rhymer", and issue 4 will contain "Tam Lin". It is a
6 issue run only.
