(You're) TOAST! is a Z-machine interactive fiction game written with Inform 6 and is © 2000 by Gunther Schmidl. It was a ToasterComp participant.
In this game, you play as someone who had the new Toast-O-Matic ThreeThousand installed while you weren't home, and you return to find a gigantic toaster and parts of your home transformed! This is ridiculous. How are you supposed to make toast now?
This solution is by David Welbourn, and is based on Release 1 of the game.
Note: I had some problems playing this game with WinGlulxe generating Glulxe warnings. Sometimes this interfered with my initial input characters being swallowed up somehow, but after a few swallowed letters, I could enter my command as intended.
> x toaster. (A voice says you need a second person to use it?)
> x toast. (Actually bread)
> x chair. x weight. (Use "PUT ON" not "TIE TO")
> take all. ne.
> drop chair. stand on chair.
> put toast in toaster. n.
> x lever. x dial. ("LIGHT") x window. (You see the sun.)
> turn dial. ("DARK" — and the sun goes down.)
> push lever. ("Please press the button on the toaster.")
> put weight on lever. (Otherwise it'll pop up before you can reach the button.)
> x button. push button.
