A Wizard Goes Shopping is a Z-machine interactive fiction game written with Inform 7 and is © 2010 by Kevin Jackson-Mead. It was a participant in the PAX East 2010 Speed-IF event.
You play as a wizard, doing some food-shopping for your partner. You need a lobster, a mango, and a box of fettuccine. You doesn't expect to need any magic, but you have your spell book just in case.
This solution is by David Welbourn, and is based on Release 1 of the game.
> x me. i. x book. spells. x list.
> x aisles. (Seafood, Produce, Pasta, and Clothing)
> go clothing.
> x boots. take boots.
> out. go seafood.
Although a lobster tank and huge line are mentioned, you can't interact with they directly.
> wear boots. newton. x lobster.
> out. go produce.
> x juggler. x apple. dye. (Note that "dye apple" doesn't work.)
> look. take apple.
> give apple to juggler. look. take mango.
> out. go pasta.
> x pile. pasto. look. x fettuccine.
> take fettuccine.
The game ends when you are carrying all three ingredients.
*** You are surprised at how good lobster-mango fettuccine is. ***
