In this minimalist fantasy game, you play as Witch Hedwig. You need to brew a magic berries brew for your ill son. First, find the brew recipe.
This solution is by David Welbourn. I played this game using a Gargoyle interpreter. I couldn't use the offered advint interpreter because of a missing .dll file.
SPOILERS AHEAD. Reading a walkthrough prematurely can sometimes diminish one's enjoyment of an interactive fiction game. Please make an honest effort to play the game before reading this walkthrough.
AdvSys doesn't represent the player with a ME/MYSELF/SELF object.
AdvSys doesn't know pronouns like IT, THEM, or HIM.
Many standard or common command-verbs are not understood in this game, including ASK, ATTACK, BREAK, BUY, CLIMB, DRINK, EAT, HIT, KILL, KISS, MOVE, PULL, PUSH, SAY, SCORE, SEARCH, SWIM, TALK, TURN, and USE.
Days and nights begin with alarming frequency. The time of day matters with the pirate. Note that although WAIT is known, the abbreviation Z is not.

Extras
Characters
A merchant is in the forest, waiting for someone to give him money for no obvious reason.
A pirate hangs out in a wrecked ship by the lake. The housing crisis is real.
Mentioned:
Your ill son is whom you're making the brew for. His name, illness, current location, and father are all unspecified.
A craftsman has a hut between the lake and the swamps. I hope his craft is pottery. There's a woman and her son living nearby who don't own any pots, jars, or cups of their own. Tragically, they used up their last minted coin on wine, for medicinal purposes, of course.
Inventory
a shovel. It's in your cottage.
There's soil at the sub-volcanic area. Dig there (with the shovel) to plow it.
a brew recipe. It's in the cabinet in your attic.
Read the recipe to learn what ingredients you need for the magic brew and how to make it.
seed bag. It's in the forest beside the merchant.
Just take it; the merchant makes no objection. It seems he's just standing near it; it's not what he's selling.
At the sub-volcanic area, after plowing the soil (see shovel), drop the seeds. Some sugar cane grows immediately.
matches. They're at the wrecked ship beside the pirate.
Just take them; the pirate makes no objection. Honor among thieves, I suppose.
In your basement, light the torch (with the matches) to see the coin bag.
In your cottage, when you see a clay cup filled with ingredients on your stove, light the stove (with the matches) to make the magic brew and win the game.
a clay cup. It's in the craftman's hut.
At the lake, fill the cup. It now contains water.
In your cottage, drop the cup of water (onto your stove). Second, drop the sugar cane; the cup is now a clay cup filled with sugar cane. Third, drop the berries; the cup is now a clay cup filled with ingredients.
Finally, light the stove (with the matches) to cook the brew and win the game.
sugar cane. Grow it at the sub-volcanic area by first digging (with the shovel) then dropping the seed bag.
This is the second ingredient for your magic brew; see recipe and cup.
coin bag. It's in your basement after you light the torch (with the matches).
In the forest, give the coin bag to the merchant, if only because he's one of two people in the game and the pirate doesn't want it. You have just bought a bottle of wine. Hope it's a good year and color.
a bottle of wine. In the forest, the merchant gives this to you in exchange for the coin bag.
Take the wine to the wrecked ship during the day; the pirate steals the wine and drinks some. Return at night; the drunk pirate drops a map. He drops the bottle too, but you no longer need it.
a map. After the pirate steals the wine (during the day), return to the wrecked ship at night. The pirate drops the map and bottle, which you can now take.
Take the map into the craftsman's hut. You now see a way west from there into the swamps. I guess you missed it with all that furniture in the way.
In the Druid's garden, cut the fruits (with the sickle). The berries fall to the ground.
berries. In the Druid's garden. cut the fruits with the sickle; the berries fall to the ground.
This is the third ingredient for your magic brew; see recipe and cup.
NOTE: Magical fruit isn't interesting to look at.
