What Dreams May Come is a Z-machine interactive fiction game written with Infrom 6 and is © 2003 by D. Jacob Wildstrom. It was a participant in the Speed-IF Jacket 2 event.
In this tiny game, you begin as a gopher in a busy maze of cubicles. Co-workers keep giving you envelopes to deliver, but you can never reach your destinations in time. And why is a jester following you around, singing and dancing?
This solution is by David Welbourn, and is based on Release 1 of the game.
Maze of cubicles / Cubicle
You can try to deliver the envelopes, but you won't succeed.
> x envelope. open it. x jester. ask jester about me.
> tell jester about me. kiss jester. hit jester. jester, go.
> wake up.
Your Room
> about.
> x me. x bed. smell. x book. take it. stand.
> e. i. x cap. remove it. g.
Cognitive Sciences Laboratory
> x window. open it. s.
Lab Corridor
> x doors. w.
Dr. Tran's lab
> x CD. take it. x desk. open it. x box. x door. close it.
There are three different endings, none obviously the best:
> put CD in box.
*** The show must go on ***
> undo
> turn box off.
*** Human voices wake us, and we drown ***
> undo
> break CD.
*** Your dreams have been shattered ***
