Key & Compass presents:
Vampire Ltd
by Alex Harby

Vampire Ltd is a Glulx interactive fiction game written with Inform 7 and is © 2020 by Alex Harby. It was an entry in IF Comp 2020 where it took 13th place.

In this game of revenge, you play as Nero Brashov, former nobleman, current vampire and businessman, but your many failures have forced you into reduced circumstances. Meanwhile, your rival and fellow vampire, Hadrian Alba, is gaining glory by promoting his stupid Moonlite device. What a liar he is. He's never cared about sustainable energy. Well, no matter what this Moonlite thing is, you're going to destroy it.

This solution is by David Welbourn, and is based on Release 4 of the game.

SPOILERS AHEAD. Reading a walkthrough prematurely can sometimes diminish one's enjoyment of an interactive fiction game. Please make an honest effort to play the game before reading this walkthrough.

CREDITS:
Written by Alex Harby.

Made using Inform 7 by Graham Nelson, via the Inform 7 Windows IDE by David Kinder.

Borrows from example code written by Graham Nelson, Emily Short, Jim Aikin and Melvin Rangasamy (annotated in the source code as appropriate).

Beta-tested by AKheon, Christopher Merriner, Dark Star, Mathbrush, Mike Russo and Peter M. J. Gross. Many thanks to all of them.

Thanks to Mike Sousa, Stian and Patrick Mooney for sending transcripts of the IFComp version over for bugfixing. Thanks to ClubFloyd for their playthrough which revealed a couple of errors. Apologies to the IFComp judges whose transcripts I forgot to download before the competition closed. Any remaining errors in this game are my own fault.

Thanks to Dannii Willis and the IFComp organisers for technical support during IFComp 2020. Thanks to everyone who reviewed the game during the comp. I really needed the positive feedback sometimes.

I am indebted to Taika Waititi and Jermaine Clement's What We Do In The Shadows and Abigail Corfman's 16 Ways to Kill a Vampire at McDonalds, and hope I haven't stolen any of their jokes.
