Someone has kidnapped Muffy and left an anonymous letter, saying she's being held at the bottom of these stairs. You don't know who did this or why, but you're going to rescue her.

Characters

Muffy is your poodle. She was kidnapped and tied up at the bottom of the stairwell.
A monster, some nameless horror, is unseen but you can hear it breathing.

Mentioned:

It's implied someone kidnapped Muffy and summoned the horror, but the letter is anonymous.

Inventory

a letter. You're carrying it. Read it.
a zippo lighter. You're carrying it. Use it for light at the bottom of the stairs and to light the furnace.
a slice of fruitcake. It's at the Top of Stairwell. Throw it at the horror from the top of the stairs after Muffy is free and the furnace is lit.
a scrap of paper. It falls out of Muffy's collar when you untie her. Read it.
