TRUDGE: An Interactive Hike is a TADS 2 interactive fiction game and is © 1999 by Neil deMause. It was an entry in the Speed-IF 6 event.
In this ridiculous excuse for a game, you play as someone climbing up the side of a tremendous iceburg. Why you're here is anyone's guess, but you're cold and hungry and seeing things out of the corner of your eyes so you better keep moving.
This solution is by David Welbourn.
Eeeagh!! Okay, okay. It's only a speed-IF. It's only a speed-IF...
> version. x me. i. x slinky.
> x iceberg. x iceburg.
> d. u. (Repeat going up.)
After a random number of turns, a potato and hat appear.
> x potato. x hat.
> ask potato about roller coaster. (Say what!? Roller coaster!? Did this game even mention a roller coaster? No. No it did not. But it was one of the items in the Speed-IF 6 premise. Eeeagh!)
> u. (Repeat going up!)
Keep going up a whole bunch of times, I'm not counting how many (like I care anymore, after the roller coaster), until you go snowblind.
In The Woods
> look. x sand. n. (You fall into a crevasse and die.)
*** YOU HAVE WON ***
For what it's worth, it doesn't matter which way you travel on the iceburg as long as you keep moving.
This walkthrough is provided free of charge since I wrote this walkthrough prior to January 2015 when I began my Patreon account, and also because the work it's based on has less than fifteen locations (so I wouldn't have charged for it anyway). I've since reformatted this walkthrough to use my currently preferred style. I hope you enjoy it!
I'm still creating new walkthroughs! Larger ones too! Please visit my Patreon account if you're interested in helping me create more interactive fiction walkthroughs. I appreciate all the help I can get! Thanks again.
