You play as someone newly-dead. Because of some unrepented sins, you have a few tasks to complete before you can be admitted into Heaven. You must bring light to your soul, acquire decency, and kiss an alligator.

Inventory

your immortal soul. You're carrying it. Open it; it contains Decency. Take the Decency (to "acquire" it). Put the Eternal Flame into your soul to "bring light to it".
a piece of paper. The angel gives it to you after one turn. Read it; it lists the tasks you need to complete to get into heaven.
an Eternal Flame. It's in the Pit Of Flames. Put it inside your soul.
Decency. It's inside your soul. Take it. Open it; it contains Rusty Lead-Painted Metal Bits.
Rusty Lead-Painted Metal Bits. They're inside the Decency. You can leave them there.
