Ship of Whimsy is a Z-machine interactive fiction game written with Inform 7 and is © 2011 by U. N. Owen. This game was entered in IF Comp 2011 where it took 32nd place.
In this short game, you are on board the Ship of Whimsy which is populated by an assortment of fantastic creatures. It is also docked and in no condition to sail which the faerie queen finds most vexing. Perhaps you can solve the ship's problems so it can finally set sail?
This solution is by David Welbourn, and is based on Release 1 of the game.

Note that while it's possible to reboard and leave the ship while it's sailing away, the game acts as if you're stuck on the dock regardless.
