Key & Compass presents:
Romeo, Juliet and the Dog
by Ricardo Dague

Romeo, Juliet and the Dog is a Z-machine interactive fiction game written with Inform 6 and is © 2002 by Ricardo Dague. It was a participant of the Speed-IF EXTREME event.

In this short game, very loosely based on Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet, you play as Romeo Montague. You're madly in love with Juliet Capulet. She's really hot and she says she loves you more than Dr Pepper, but she won't let you squeeze her melons.

This solution is by David Welbourn, and is based on Release 1 of the game.

> x me. x Juliet. x pulpit. kiss Juliet. kill me.

> x pews. look under pews. x doo. x pill. take pill.

Warning: don't stay near the priests until you have the means to attack them. The priests will kill you if you hang around long enough for them to notice you.

> x priests. e.

> n. knock on women. s.

Men's Room

> x star. take star. n. w. s.

> Juliet, take doo. (She doesn't pick up the doggy doo; instead, she goes to the Women's Room. And only variations of this command will convince Juliet to go there.)

> n. e. knock on women.

Women's Room

> x glass. x water. take glass. put star in water. s. w.

> z. (continue to wait until a priest says he'll kill you for watching the movie Titanic.)

> throw star at priest. x ring. take ring.

> e. knock on women.

Women's Room

> give ring to Juliet.

This doesn't have the effect you'd expect, but it's still a win.

This walkthrough is provided free of charge since I wrote this walkthrough prior to January 2015 when I began my Patreon account, and also because the work it's based on has less than fifteen locations (so I wouldn't have charged for it anyway). I've since reformatted this walkthrough to use my currently preferred style. I hope you enjoy it!

I'm still creating new walkthroughs! Larger ones too! Please visit my Patreon account if you're interested in helping me create more interactive fiction walkthroughs. I appreciate all the help I can get! Thanks again.
