A Pilgrim was written for ECTOCOMP 2020 in four hours. This version was not tested except by me, Abandoned Pools, who also wrote it.

Inventory

• an indescribable hat. You're wearing it.
• You're had it for 70 years. You may remove it, but just leave it on.
• a Panzitoum cape. You're wearing it.
• You may remove it, but just leave it on.
• a walking stick. You're carrying it.
• Just keep it. You can try to put it into the eyehole in the wall in the pilgrim's station, but the stick doesn't fit.
• a candle. You're carrying it.
• Light the candle when you want light in dark places.
• Blow the candle to put it out. You'll want to do that before sleeping on the bench.
• a small stone sphere. Acquire it by searching the red needles in the bower.
• In the pilgrim's station, put the sphere into the eyehole in wall. This causes the wall to slide over, leaving a much bigger hole leading into a tunnel.
• a pilgrim. It's the "bundle of twigs" on the bench in the pilgrim's station.
• Take the body to the rootshrine and put it in the mouth of the well. With the bench vacated, you can now sleep on it yourself.
• The unusual condition of the corpse was caused by the pilgrim chewing Urbalsam tree tendrils during their life. You'll remember this fact in your vault of memories when you examine the parchment strip about the people of Zocep.
