OnNoEf is a Z-machine version 5 interactive fiction game written with Inform 6 and is © 1999 by Evin Robertson. It was an entry in the Speed-IF 4 event. I assume the title is an abbreviation for Onion-Nostradamus-Eiffel.
In this bizarre tiny game, you are on top of a tall tower in Paris, but you don't remember its name or what it's for. Perhaps you can ask someone about it.
This solution is by David Welbourn, and is based on Release 1 of the game.
Top of Tower
> x tower. d. w.
Bathroom
> x man. ask man about tower. g. e. u.
Sorry, but I can't really explain what's going on here. I suppose the statements are actual pronouncements from the historical Nostradamus?
Top of Tower
CAUTION: You must have asked the man about something first. Otherwise, you fall and die.
> w. (or any other compass direction)
*** You have won ***
Actually, any standard character-based interaction with the man will do. So, if you don't feel like talking to him, you can try to kiss him or kill him or order him to go east instead, and it'll still work.
This walkthrough is provided free of charge since I wrote this walkthrough prior to January 2015 when I began my Patreon account, and also because the work it's based on has less than fifteen locations (so I wouldn't have charged for it anyway). I've since reformatted this walkthrough to use my currently preferred style. I hope you enjoy it!
I'm still creating new walkthroughs! Larger ones too! Please visit my Patreon account if you're interested in helping me create more interactive fiction walkthroughs. I appreciate all the help I can get! Thanks again.
