You play as Lars, a lab flunky who has the task of preparing the Special Surprise to honor the great inventor Chuck Schmendiman at a banquet. You rather envy and resent Schmendrick and have your own ideas what sort of surprise you'd really like to give him.

Lars is the player-character. Fulton mentions your name during his brief visit.
A giant sponge is in your dream, floating above your old hometown.
A pedestrian can be seen in your dream, in your old hometown.
Fulton makes a brief appearance in the lab, telling you not to attach hoses to the Pulmonator.

Endings

You have died if you stay in the lab for the explosion.
You have won if you blow up the lab with the hose and leave.

Inventory

a Mars brand fruit pie. It's on the toolbench in the lab. Eat the pie; it will make you sleepy so you can then sleep on the cot.
