The Forests of Lachryma is a Z-machine interactive fiction game written with Inform 7 and is © 2011 by Roger Carbol. It was a participant in the Speed-IF Jacket 4 event.
You play as Aris Bleph, an important citizen of the Upper Forest of Lachryma, one of the twin nations currently threatened with catastrophy. Scientists recently spotted an asteroid plummeting towards the Milk Sea and it is now your duty to retrieve that asteroid.
This solution is by David Welbourn, and is based on Release 1 of the game.

In case you haven't quite figured out what the situation is, the Milky Sea is an eye, the Mother Tree is an eyelash, and the asteroid is a speck of dust. The "twin nations" referred to in the game's first sentence refer to the upper and lower eyelashes.
