Fido and The Dead Body is a Z-machine interactive fiction game written with Inform 6 and is © 2000 by David A. Cornelson. It was an entry in the Speed-IF 11 event and the fifth part of its six-part story.
You play as a kid trying to move a dead body down into the basement, but Fido, the little mutt poodle that hates you is standing in front of the basement door. (Part 5 of a 6-part series.)
This solution is by David Welbourn, and is based on Release 1 of the game.
Lower Hallway
This is part five of a six-part series; start with Fun and Games.
> x me. i. x body. x Fido. e.
Kitchen
The following sequence is something of a red herring; Fido will still follow you, and still bark when you try to go down, even when he has the steak. However it's still worth giving the steak to keep Fido quiet while you're in the living room.
> x cupboards. x fridge. open it. take steak.
> x steak. give steak to Fido. w.
Lower Hallway
Here's the real answer. Because there's a serious danger of getting caught if Fido barks three times, don't waste any time examining anything in the living room:
> drop body. w.
Living Room
> take book. e.
Lower Hallway
> x book. take body. d.
*** You have won ***
This series concludes with SpeedIF 11, part six.

This walkthrough is provided free of charge since I wrote this walkthrough prior to January 2015 when I began my Patreon account, and also because the work it's based on has less than fifteen locations (so I wouldn't have charged for it anyway). I've since reformatted this walkthrough to use my currently preferred style. I hope you enjoy it!
I'm still creating new walkthroughs! Larger ones too! Please visit my Patreon account if you're interested in helping me create more interactive fiction walkthroughs. I appreciate all the help I can get! Thanks again.
