Dream Pieces is a Quest interactive fiction game and is © 2013 by Iam Curio. It was an entry in IF Comp 2013 where it took 20th place.
In this one-room playful wordplay game, you wake in your bedroom but it's just not the same! You're dreaming. It's a seeming. So take everything. Break, burn, and cut 'em: the pieces they bring! Mix pieces together and make something new. Now escape from this dream; that's what you must do.
This solution is by David Welbourn, and is based on Version 4.0 of the game.

You are first asked to enter your birthdate [mmddyyyy], but any eight-digit number will do:

Begin by examining everything.

Break some things, then make a hammer:

Use your hammer to break more things, then make a blade:

Use your blade to cut things, then make matches:

Use your matches to burn the box, then make a door:

Break the clock, then make a lock and key and escape!
