Key & Compass presents:
Dreadwine
by Eric Eve

Dreadwine is a Z-machine interactive fiction game written with Inform 7 and is © 2006 by Eric Eve. It was an entry in the MC Dream mini-comp, also called the IF Dreams 2006.

In this retelling of a dream, you find yourself in a crowded yet strangely-quiet café with O'Brien and Sandra. O'Brien tells you that people are taken to the castle and turned into wine. Sandra knows she's next and has lost all hope. But there must be a way to escape this town and save Sandra! Isn't there?

This solution is by David Welbourn, and is based on Release 1 of the game.

SPOILERS AHEAD. Reading a walkthrough prematurely can sometimes diminish one's enjoyment of an interactive fiction game. Please make an honest effort to play the game before reading this walkthrough.

"Dreadwine" uses several Inform library extensions by Emily Short: Basic Screen Effects, Menus and Plurality.

Beta-testing was by Michel Nizette, who provided much valuable feedback and many helpful suggestions (as well as spotting quite a few typos!).

Last, but by no means least, the Inform language and library are by Graham Nelson.
