Digging Time! is a Z-machine interactive fiction game written with Inform 6 and is © 2011 by Rob Wheeler. It was an entry in the PAX East 2011 Speed-IF event.

You are Mendoza, a miner on Pluto. The planetoid is shaking. You need to find your fellow miners and get off this rock before it breaks apart completely.

This solution is by David Welbourn, and is based on Release 1 of the game.

Pluto - Deep Mine - Tunnel end

> x wall. x sensor. x digging tool.

> dig wall. (+1)

> n. (A rockslide blocks the way back.)

Pluto - Deep Mine - Vent Chamber

> x jim. take emitter. push blue button. (+2)

You're able to make a status report before you're cut off.

> x hole. d.

Pluto - Central Core - Brain Tree

> x tree. x kevin. (The tree tells you to dig.)

> dig tree. (+3. A typewriter is revealed.)

> x typewriter. (A leaf floats near you.)

> take leaf. x leaf.

> put leaf in typewriter.

> read leaf. (It's the text from the start of the game?! What?)

In an explosion of light, you and the tree are propelled apart.

> i. (Your suit and the emitter are all you have.)

> x suit. push button. (+4. You are rescued.)
