Key & Compass presents:
The Crouton Caper
by Andrew Schepler

The Crouton Caper is a Z-machine interactive fiction game written with Inform 6 and is © 2001 by Andrew Schepler. It was a participant in the Speed-IF 2001 event.

In this teeny-tiny one-room game, you play as Jambalaya Guy, the superhero of New Orleans. Tonight, you're investigating a break-in at the big crouton factory north of town.

This solution is by David Welbourn, and is based on Release 1 of the game.

Crouton Factory

> x window. x croutons.

> look. x machine. x dial. x button. push button.

> turn dial to large. push button.

Using a matchbook ejected by the machine, you track down the supervillian, Brutus the Chihuahua, to his lair but he traps you in an aluminium cage.

*** To be continued ***

There is no inventory, but you do take a matchbook in the epilogue.

Thank You to my Patreon supporters

This walkthrough is provided free of charge since I wrote this walkthrough prior to January 2015 when I began my Patreon account, and also because the work it's based on has less than fifteen locations (so I wouldn't have charged for it anyway). I've since reformatted this walkthrough to use my currently preferred style. I hope you enjoy it!

I'm still creating new walkthroughs! Larger ones too! Please visit my Patreon account if you're interested in helping me create more interactive fiction walkthroughs. I appreciate all the help I can get! Thanks again.
