This is a short espionage game. Your freelance spy mission is to "Infiltrate MegaCorp, gain access to the data centre, download the database." You begin in MegaCorp's foyer, disguised as a repairman.
This solution is by David Welbourn, and is based on Release 3 of the game.
SPOILERS AHEAD. Reading a walkthrough prematurely can sometimes diminish one's enjoyment of an interactive fiction game. Please make an honest effort to play the game before reading this walkthrough.

Inventory
In the order you'll likely find them.
a job card. You're carrying it.
In the foyer, show the card to the receptionist. She takes the card and gives you a maintenance tag.
an overall. You're wearing it. It's your repairman disguise.
In the maintenance quarters, remove the overall and wear the suit. You drop the overall on the floor. Take the hint and leave it there.
a toolbox. You're carrying it. Don't open it in the foyer!
You drop the toolbox in the maintenance quarters. Open it. The toolbox contains a screwdriver, a data disk, and a suit. Take everything from the toolbox and leave it there.
a wrist watch. You're wearing it.
Examine it to check the time, but the time is unimportant. Take as long as you want on your mission.
Okay, yes, the watch does shoot knockout darts, which you'll learn about if you try to attack anyone. The only person you can safely attack is the tech in the data centre.
a maintenance tag. In the foyer, the receptionist gives this to you when you show your job card to her.
DON'T wear the tag. You must carry it, not wear it, when going north from the foyer.
In the data centre, after the tech leaves, put the disk into the driver bay, then log on the database terminal. Files are downloaded onto the disk. Take the disk to win the game.
In the maintenance quarters, remove the overall and wear the suit. Leave the suit on for the rest of the mission.
a coffee mug. It's in the breakroom.
Put coffee (from the pot) into the mug.
You may drink some of the coffee if you like. This action doesn't empty the mug.
In admininstration, put the full mug on the copy machine. Wait for the man to use machine. While the man is preoccupied with his wet pages, quickly enter his cubicle and take his security pass.
a security pass. It's in the adminstration cubicle.
You won't enter the cubicle while the man is in there. Put a mug full of coffee on the copy machine and wait for the man to use the machine. While the man is preoccupied with his wet pages, quickly enter his cubicle and take his security pass.
The security pass lets you use the elevator. You use the pass automatically when you try to go north from administration.
