Carnival is a Z-machine interactive fiction game written with Inform 6 and is © 1999 by Admiral Jota. It was a participant in the Speed-IF 5.5 event.

You play as someone visiting the carnival. You've had a great day, but you haven't won a prize yet.

This solution is by David Welbourn, and is based on Release 1 of the game.

(1 step) Carnival(start) Carnival(lost) GameBooth (1 step) (4 steps)

> i. x bill. x popcorn.

> z. (Repeat waiting ten more turns or so until you hear which color is "lucky". Which color it is changes from game to game.)

Any five moves in any direction brings you to the game booth, although it's only four steps if you leave the booth and try to return.

Thank You to my Patreon supporters

This walkthrough is provided free of charge since I wrote this walkthrough prior to January 2015 when I began my Patreon account, and also because the work it's based on has less than fifteen locations (so I wouldn't have charged for it anyway). I've since reformatted this walkthrough to use my currently preferred style. I hope you enjoy it!

I'm still creating new walkthroughs! Larger ones too! Please visit my Patreon account if you're interested in helping me create more interactive fiction walkthroughs. I appreciate all the help I can get! Thanks again.
