Key & Compass presents:
Beat Me Up Scotty
by Jkj Yuio

Beat Me Up Scotty is a web browser interactive fiction game written with Strand and is © 2023 by Jkj Yuio. It was an entry in Spring Thing 2023's Main Festival.

In this short comedic linear wordplay game based loosely on Star Trek: The Original Series, you play as the ship's captain. As you party across the galaxy, you often have to say "B___ me up Scotty", using whatever B-word is appropriate to get of your current jam.

This solution is by David Welbourn, and is based on Version 1.05 of the game.

SPOILERS AHEAD. Reading a walkthrough prematurely can sometimes diminish one's enjoyment of an interactive fiction game. Please make an honest effort to play the game before reading this walkthrough.

A map is totally meaningless for a linear game like this, but I like making maps, so you get one regardless. Travel from one location to the next is only accomplished by entering the correct "B___ ME UP" command or "PASS". Some locations require multiple commands to progress.

Credits

This is the response to CREDITS:

Beat Me Up Scotty is another fantastic game written by Jkl Yuio whilst totally inebriated. But luckily it's written in Strand, which rocks so hard you can drink, talk rot and bosh stuff out all at the same time.

A big thank you goes out to beta testers including Kenneth Pedersen (Denk).

Thanks for playing!

Your inventory is somewhat meaningless and unimportant in this game.
