Very good opening, with some confident writing. I enjoyed the dogfood puzzle, and when the PC referred to the 'excitement' of her morning, I couldn't help but agree -- feeding the dog offered far more genuine excitement than any fantasy adventure. And furthermore, it looked like some character development and interesting emotional stuff was an the horizon.
Sadly, this game gets rapidly slighter as it goes along, and buggier, and more contrived. I was saddened when I went to the office and found that >SEARCH CHAIR didn't show me the thing on the chair that I was supposed to get, and hugely disappointed shortly afterwards when the game turned into Coffee Quest XVI. The ending I found (following the walkthrough) was sudden and unsatisfactory, with not much resolved -- the game has the feeling of being finished in a rush.
